When I first started out in the nonprofit sector as a program assistant, no one ever asked me to think about the numbers. It wasn’t until I transitioned to public policy analysis that I fully understood the importance of clean, consistent data. In that time, I also noticed several issues emerging within nonprofit organizations:

• Funders, policymakers, and other stakeholders were asking nonprofits to provide more and more data.
• These organizations rarely had anyone on staff who had a background in data. Therefore, the work was left to someone who volunteered or was "voluntold."
• As a result, some nonprofits would unintentionally use inaccurate information to make decisions about operations, programs, and advocacy strategies. 

Without training or education in proper data techniques, organizations may not realize they are making big mistakes. I’m here to partner with organizations as a strategist, teacher, and implementer for your data collection, analysis, and management needs.
